This is a total cliche, and fundamentally untrue.
Of course, when Greens are organised enough to win a by-election in a FPTP contest, they are denounced by the Right for being "savage" and "a menace", and chided by liberals for not fulfilling their stereotype of being fluffy tree-huggers.
In any case,I think we have all seen what the Right's notion of freedom looks like.
@ainmosni
Fair enough, but it is often wheeled out as a stock comment here too, so forgive my knee-jerk response.
One problem we have here, which may well differ, is a media landscape which until recently was disinterested and still hostile. This has historically made it difficult for the positive Green position to cut through. That has started to change here.
They need to be repeating this ⤵️ mantra as infininitum as well!!!
“What we are witnessing is the chaotic, catastrophic acceleration of the global transition away from fossil fuel dependency — not because governments chose it, not because activists won the argument, but because the American empire made the dependency too dangerous to maintain”

IN EU the ex worst defense minister of all time for Germany Von der Leyen is hard selling the Atomic Power is Renewable shit.
French pro atom Lobbyists have been placed in the Commission, that according to a French group Nuclear Alliance.
LOOK AT THE HISTORY OF NUCLEAR SAFETY,
A pack of lies and dirty destruction.
Nuclear waste problems are Ignored.
WE ARE RULED BY LOBBYISTS AND DONKEYS.
Subsidise solar Wind and Battery Storage
@Kerplunk
While I consider nuclear preferable over coal, that is one hell of a low bar.
With nuclear you'll just be dependent on imported uranium, and pretty much all of that stuff is coming from either Russia or unstable areas that will no doubt get more unstable if their uranium gets more important.
Nuclear will only solve the pollution problems and literally nothing else.
@Techaltar
Nuclear will only solve the pollution problems and literally nothing else.
So you have a way to remove all nuclear pollution from the planet or are another lying deceptive lobbyist trying to push poison power.
I think the Latter
Nuclear waste needs to be safely stored for longer than life has existed on this planet.
Most of it is stored in rotting containers and extremely dangerous.
@Kerplunk
My post was a "yes, and". Not everyone on the internet is your opponent.
Agreeing 90% with someone and therefore coming to the same conclusion but disagreeing on the last 10% does not make you enemies.
@Techaltar
@Kerplunk @kainisenni @Techaltar cool to see you dont know shit about the subject. And don't bother replying, can't hear you over the sound of our 40g of co2 instead of german 500...
The day you understand being antinuke is playing for the fossile. Fuel company, you will have learn something.
@Techaltar In Massachusetts right now, people are bitching about the price of electricity and blaming renewables and our state energy efficient programs.
Meanwhile in reality, electricity costs are sky high because natural gas prices are spiking, and MA electricity is extremely dependent on natural gas. Every megawatt of renewable electricity on the grid is lowering everyone's costs.
@Techaltar I’m definitely pro renewables but I also realise the reality that virutally all of the infrastructure that enables our lives uses oil to work.
Whether that’s cars, buses, trams, trains, power stations, elevators, escalators, bicyles, air conditioning, sliding doors, factories, construction, shipping etc
All these things need oil, either to grease them or to power them. So we still need oil but the focus should be to find sustainable alternatives and move away eventually, from oil.
@Techaltar Oil is only half of the picture though. Gas is also heavily relied upon by billions of people for cooking and heating. There are also gas powered vehicles (liquid petroleum gas).
It’s not an easy or quick change. It will take decades. If not a century, to fully move away from fossil fuels

@Techaltar The origin story of his failure to become EU Commission President. He's now a bitter, resentful husk who will stop at nothing to claw back some semblance of relevance. The EP Greens and German Greens in particular do know all this though, which makes their dumbo behaviour here even more frustrating.
