While I consider nuclear preferable over coal, that is one hell of a low bar.
With nuclear you'll just be dependent on imported uranium, and pretty much all of that stuff is coming from either Russia or unstable areas that will no doubt get more unstable if their uranium gets more important.

Nuclear will only solve the pollution problems and literally nothing else.

I think the Latter

Nuclear waste needs to be safely stored for longer than life has existed on this planet.

Most of it is stored in rotting containers and extremely dangerous.
