Whatโ€™s the plural of octopus?
@dgar octopodes of course...
@dgar
wonderful ๐Ÿฅง
art is all around us ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ
@dgar There are three accepted plurals. Octopodes, octopuses and octopii

@dgar

I liked this. So much that I googled octopus pie. My recommendation - don't do that.

@dgar

Oh...but wait jest a darn momento here...๐Ÿค”

Dat Oct-To-Pie will NOT last until March 14th...now will it???

U is supposed to celebrate dat 3.14 on de proper day (National Pie Day)...are U not?

ME is a tad *pickety* about Pie Day offerings being mathematically constant!
๐Ÿ˜‹

@dgar octopodes ๐Ÿ˜†
@dgar itโ€™s NOT octopi, but I reblogged it anyway because thatโ€™s really cool!
@permacultureandpolitics โ˜๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘
@dgar In this case Octopud! Pud, is UK slang for pudding, aka desert!

@dgar I mean, funny joke, but.

octopodes

@dgar There are two: Octopussies and Octopods.

Pictured here is an octopie. Bake another and you've got octopies.

@dgar

> What's the plural of octopus

0n0pus (in octal, assuming n>1)
@dgar 1 polvo, 2 polvos
@Disputatore
This translates for me to:
1 dust, 2 powders
@dgar Hahahaha! Ok, I get it. First, it's translating from Spanish, it seems. "Polvo" is the Portuguese word for octopus. The plural is obtained (in this case) by just adding an "s"
@Disputatore
It was my assumption that the translator had the wrong language, and had resigned to just not knowing which language it was. The context already told me it was octopus. Thank you for clarifying though!
โ˜๏ธ๐Ÿ˜โœŒ๏ธ
@dgar cephalopods

@carowe

โ€ข one octopus
โ€ข two octopuses
โ€ข three octopods
โ€ข 3.14 octopi

@dgar this is really cool but I'm rewatching Marvels Agents of shield rn and all I can see when look at this is is that damn nazi hydra logo.
@KontributeGaming
It does look kind of evilโ€ฆ
@dgar the number of people replying "octopuses" here is too damn pi!
@dgar in German it's "Oktopรถten"
@zockbursche if I use the translate on that word, it returns โ€œOctopusesโ€ ๐Ÿ˜
@dgar Duh. Itโ€™s hexadecapus.
