So tired of these pricks. See also: Palantir's Alex Karp.
But that's all just this week.
The club for wretched and entitled little tech boys has a vast, and increasingly abhorrent membership.

"That's $100 please"
"For what?"
"The use of intelligence"
"But the intelligence is mine. It's inside my actual head. I acquired it through hard work."
"No. $100. Here's the itemised bill, look."
"This is just a list of intellectual properties you stole from me."
"$140 now. Late fee."

#AI

@Richard_Littler I didn't know that much about Sam Altman, other than he was a name in AI and was at some point affiliated with Musk. If you are interested in how fragile his authority is on this subject, and how the AI scam works, the Hysteria YouTube channel did a great take down of him, with all his nasty and delusional history. https://youtu.be/_XRjoR5VLos

It reminded me of the scam Elizabeth Holmes ran with Theranos.

@Richard_Littler enshittification knows no limits. Intelligence on tap?!
@Richard_Littler It’s not exactly a Nikola Tesla-level vision (to paraphrase) ‘I see a future where electricity is a utility and it is transmitted to people for free’
@Richard_Littler the dude is trying to economise
@Richard_Littler because the Patriot act specifically calls out that the government can not collect this information on it's own ... But it may purchase it from 3rd party vendors

@Richard_Littler Hey, Sam, you're described the future a friend envisioned four decades ago: artificial intelligence is the next best thing to being smart.

But some of us have *actual* intelligence, and we're fine we're with that. I successfully traded some of my intelligence for money during my career and my employers seemed satisfied. I mean, I've never put glue on a pizza and I can't draw humans with five fingers (AND a thumb!), but I did OK.

@Richard_Littler @Mabande my book keeping software actually charges me for opening my invoices, because they use ”intelligence” to read my invoice.
I hate it, but changing the software is more expensive.
@mikaellundin @Richard_Littler oof! They've found the golden spot of extraction 😣

It's almost a year since the Studio Ghibli Slop Machine led to this very practical suggestion:
