For several years now, public EV charging points in Amsterdam have also been used to provide temporary power supplies for construction projects and events, for example. The city is now actively promoting this as an alternative to diesel generators on construction sites.

@burger_jaap Great! I talked to someone from a construction project a while ago, where they had set up a huge array of generators, and they told me where ever possible, they try to use electricity, but we usually don't have enough outlets around the city yet (and in their specific case the demand was too much; they were making a tunnel). Seems like Amsterdam has more charging points already, that's great.
@burger_jaap what a wonderful idea! I do not know if this is used in Luxembourg; I have never personally heard of it.
@burger_jaap That's fairly sensible.
@burger_jaap I don't know...what if the cable isn't long enough? Wouldn't a small, EU-made nucelar reactor be a better option? /s
@burger_jaap The adapter looks serious but wirestrap + plywood installation not that much ๐Ÿซฃ
@burger_jaap i don't know about Amsterdam but the building code here demands "construction outlets" for that since "ever". Never heard a diesel generator, except for compressed air. And where is the problem in hooking into some cable? That's done in an hour. I guess some weird legal issues are the true culprits for the use of generators.
@notjustbikes worth mentioning in a video?
@Kulei neat! I will certainly mention it if I'm talking about public chargers.
@burger_jaap Oh and for remote locations I'd like to use this opportunity to promote my client's solution: https://hygro.nl/en/products/hygro-hydrogen-generator
@burger_jaap Looks like a nice idea for small/short-term projects where the cost and hassle of installing a temporary hookup is high in comparison to the cost of running a generator. In my city I usually see markets and construction sites use temporary hookups.
@burger_jaap wait do they give out 3 phase ac or something?
@burger_jaap
Availability for use by a food truck(s) would be nice also.
@burger_jaap Now I need to carry another adapter to charge my phone.
I have a Type 2 โ€“ shuko adapter. It is quite handy with travelling with camping car or even for ebike charging. Easy to find those via charging maps.
Type 2 is just 3x32 A (or 3x16 A) socket with extra safety features, just needs small smart to talk to "charger".
