@QasimRashid We are not exactly in "crusade" territory yet: for that we need analogs to dubious historical characters such as "Peter the Hermit" and "Walter the Penniless".

A lot of them were far less "noble" than depicted in Western literature/films. It is really an embarrassment for Western culture, but on a "positive" note, it rid Europe of quite a few thugs, unfortunately at other's expense.

@hashbangperl @QasimRashid I think the fact that Ukraine hasnt been able to independently take decisions about this war speaks volumes. From Boris Johnson in 2022 preventing peace talks to the present stalemate situation and Trumps preeminence in finding a way out to US davantage, its clear that Zelensky is not in control. NATO-US support is proxy support.They are unwilling/unable to offer sufficient support to win, but as Ukrainians are the ones doing the dying, the MFs are in no hurry.

@dacig @QasimRashid no, There isn't US support, nor NATO support for Ukraine, just European and some commonwealth (au/nz/can). Ukraine has turned the tide, but there are no ww2 style blitzkrieg any more as drones have changed modern warfare completely, so there won't be a repeat of the Kherson success.
