My “non refundable” hotel reservation was just canceled because they overbooked. Fantastic. I booked months in advance because the season is starting and everything books up fast. I checked my credit card, and the inn declined the charge yesterday, but visa said it was nothing on their end. The owner offered one of their Airbnb properties, but I despise Airbnb and stayed at this inn because it was local owned and not a chain. Also, Airbnb doesn’t have catered breakfast and dinner, so not the same experience at all if I have to keep doing housework on vacation.
The whole thing feels sketchy now. I should have just booked a chain. Everything is booked solid, I may just change where we go. Maybe sante fe instead. Or what’s the ufo town in New Mexico? Maybe go there and see if the mothership comes to get me.
