"With support for the #Iran war tanking, Trump's now⚡throwing away the GOP's advantage on 3 core issues: #Economy #lmmigration #NationalSecurity. A year ago it looked like he might be pop on all 3.”

It was never his intent to support Rs, he used them to accoumplish his goals, his MO. They still don't understand, Trump's🚨tearing it all down to PROFITEER. Littlle will be left *destroying Americans' faith in the USG & leaving crumbs (<$Ts) for future pols.

Donald Trump’s Presidency Is in Free Fall

Republicans typically lead on the economy, national security, and immigration. Trump is squandering the GOP’s traditional strength on all three.

The New Republic

@KimPerales

The #GOP should NOT "lead" on the economy, national security, or immigration. They have massively failed in all three areas, and anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. The GOP simply does a very good job gaslighting the public, traditionally with very little or no pushback from #Democrats.

"When they go low, we go high" is absolutely the worst piece of advice any Democratic strategist or consultant ever gave the Democrats. They've been fools in overestimating how much voters pay attention and in how much voters can be swayed by policy wonkishness alone.

Exposing corruption and lies is not "going low"--it's doing a service to the #US. The Democrats have ignored this common sense issue at their--and OUR peril. #politics #journalism #journalists #usa

#Biden followed #Obama advice & robbed us of the justice that #Trump was due by announcing even before he took office that he was NOT going to investigate Trump, #Mueller evidence be damned. Also slow-walked #J6

#Americans will have a reckoning about Trump the same way that #Germans did about #Hitler, but only after much more #catastrophe.

#MAGA will have to be denazified and rehabilitated back into society.

It will be decades before we pull ourselves back up.

Even then, we will be greatly diminished, like #GreatBritain was after #WWII.

@rameshgupta @KimPerales

I wonder if #Biden even realizes that he's the architect of our own destruction. Every single advance in the past 50 years, wiped away in one election. And HE could have prevented it. HE didn't want to give up the presidency, and instead of sticking to his guns, he put Harris in the awkward position of becoming the de facto nominee with no primary and no real time to campaign adequately.

HE also was chair of the judicial committee that confirmed Clarence Thomas, and I never forgave Biden for that. I never voted for him in a primary because of Thomas.

IMHO, Biden made himself and his "achievements" as president irrelevant. He is the worst embodiment of the Democratic "establishment" that there is.

The wreckage Merrick Garland leaves behind

His failures left American democracy ripe for the picking.

Critical self-reflection is a necessary part of pulling oneself out of a wreckage and prevent same mistakes. However, every time I bring this catastrophic #Biden's failure to successfully prosecute #Russia interference in 2016, followup on #Mueller, #Jan6, #fakeElectors, #Georgia election interference, #ClassifiedDocs…, a segment of the #DemocraticParty just goes up in arms.

How is it possible to have SO. MANY. FAILURES. after #Obama & #Hillary knew about #Trump in 2016?

@rameshgupta @KimPerales

As I said, it's due to the hubris of the Democratic Party establishment. The irony inherent in the Democratic Party is that while they're willing to believe voters will evaluate information and then "do the right thing," they also do not give the voters credit for being right when voters disagree with the party line.

The Democratic Party can't have it both ways. They either have to listen to their voters and make some changes at the top as the voters want, or they should just give it up and act like the "elite" that makes them so resented by voters of all educational levels on BOTH sides, "liberal" and "conservative."

There is NOTHING worse, though, than being a voter, especially one educated in the social sciences, and being condescended to and talked down to by a completely out-of-touch politician, regardless of which party you're in.

Yes, you can tell I have an axe to grind.

It is #greed, not hubris.

>> #Democrats can't have it both ways. They either have to listen to their voters… or they should just give it up and act like the "elite" …

They have given up, but to the wrong elite — the wealthy. They don't represent ordinary voters, regardless of education level. They are only responsive to those with money.

For latest example, see #GavinNewsom fight #wealthTax on #CA #billionaires.

@rameshgupta @KimPerales

With the Democrats, I don't think it's entirely greed. I have some relatives and friends who are political consultants or who have worked in Congressional representatives' offices, and believe me, they usually don't want to hear anything that might contradict their own "takes" on things.
