These are the only native rabbits in Nova Scotia. Sadly, bunny dumping is a thing, so you might see bunnies hopping around in some areas. But this is a hare, and I haven't seen anything but hares in this area.

Bunny dumping in NS is real! 😂 I was camping in one summer and, at dusk, about a dozen definitely not wild rabbits came out of the thicket and started munching on clover. My mom explained the whole Easter pet deal, which is kind of sad.
@ColesStreetPothole They should no longer sell rabbits in pet stores. It is really crappy. They don't even take them to shelters. :(
@CStamp I mean, they seemed to have a great life! Until they don't, that is. 😩 Predation and harsh winters probably do most of them in. And I just don't get it—it doesn't take much to keep a rabbit.
