How I got my nephew to slow down & not run fast laps in the house. I made up a jump over the black spaces game & he loved jumping.

Mom put down old mats in our hallway & taped them together, to prevent Asher from scratching up the original hardwood floors up.

@PhoenixSerenity ❤️ Brilliant. Satisfying his need to move and not punishing him for it. That's such good nurturing.
@GinevraCat That's my style of teaching/guidance & it works very well.
I also explained to him that his Grandma(Mom) has a hurt foot & needs us to be mindful around her injury. He's a really compassionate kid.

@PhoenixSerenity

Off topic, but the indoor Xmas lights are awesome 🤩

@FlockOfCats Mom likes them & uses them to save on indoor lighting costs.
@PhoenixSerenity love this! So many ways for young nephew to be creative. Silent jumps. Counting jumps. Singing jumps. So much fun 💖
@kellyromanych I make up a lot of games that he enjoys, spontaneously. His parents like how many of my games also guide his behaviour and they've adopted a few of my games to play with him at home. I worked with young kids for a few years in a specialized school (we had a lot of ASD students) & have a childlike spirit so tend to get on with kids pretty well 😊
@kellyromanych It's kinda like the floor is lava game from childhood, where we climbed all over furniture & avoided the floor.
