Iranian frigate #IRIS_Dena that was torpedoed by a US SSN off-coast Sri Lanka, was sailing after a Fleet Review at Visakhapatnam, India. The lethal attack occurred well within Sri Lanka and India's maritime security theater.

Such aggression near neutral hosts is not a strategy preferred by nations that value relations based on diplomacy and respect for sovereignty. It's an ominous signature move of a state that believes in hegemony through military might.

Both #India and the #World have many reasons to be weary of this #aggression. The most infamous parallels in history exist as similar #Nazi provocations near neutral and allied nations.

A covert attack on a lone vessel returning after a well-publicized multinational exercise is a direct challenge to India and Sri Lanka's status as the security providers of the region. It's their way of saying, "We can sneak into your home and do whatever we want with impunity".

The #World is facing an anxious moment with the unprovoked US aggression destabilizing the entire #MiddleEast and parts of the #Mediterranean. With the Iranian leadership decapitated and #Iran surrounded by US military bases in the neighborhood, this outcome was entirely predictable and avoidable.

And yet with this attack in the Indian Ocean, the US is declaring that they have no qualms about expanding the conflict zone into #SouthAsia and beyond. This should worry everyone!

[3/10]

You have to be foolish to not see this as an #intimidation against #India. Silence gains several dimensions now. A fine line separates appearing resolute & unfazed, and looking too weak. It's regretful that #GoI didn't learn this lesson from the #propaganda fiasco that contrasted the spectacular #OpSindhoor.

Why do the #netas who spit fire in the domestic front find it so scary to open their mouths on the diplomatic front? The #VishwaGuru trope is an eyewash, isn't it?

[4/10]

If you believe that I'm supporting the extremist Islamic regime of Iran, instead of its oppressed #protestors, I have bad news for you. Nothing happening now is in their interests.

It's rumored that the regime killed about 30K protestors recently. What provoked this atrocity? An unnecessary public declaration by Mr. Trump inciting the protestors to fight. Iran's liberation didn't need that farce. He was using the protestors to create an excuse to invade Iran.

[5/10]

The history is even more damning. The popular narrative of a belligerent Iran belies the US role in their regression from a liberal state under the democratic Mosaddegh govt to the ruthless theocracy they're today. That includes a coup, instigation of a bloody war and military bases surrounding them - all for their oil.

Even the recent concerns about Iran's fissile uranium arose after Trump unilaterally canceled the #JCPOA deal and imposed sanctions on them in 2018.

[6/10]

This is clearly a case of international gas lighting. But the Iranian civilians deserve #freedom, right? Yes! But if history is any indication, it's never a good news when the US just walks in offering '#liberty'. It's all but guaranteed that the bad situation will get much worse. Their aid hides clandestine designs.

In summary, it's important to treat the Iranian regime and the US regime as two separate problems. They're not zero-sum adversaries.

The US regime's recent behavior makes it abundantly clear that they intend to reestablish the horrific legacy of #colonialism and #slavery with the added horrors of modern technology. Remember Trump's meme map?

An elite minority in the US sees every #genocide and apocalypse as an opportunity to enrich themselves. Just imagine living as the subjects of an openly abusive, #racist & #xenophobic colonial power that's out to exploit every last grain of your resources!

[8/10]

The regime has subverted the constitutional check on their whimsical warmongering - the public opinion expressed as Congressional approval. Meanwhile, the world is racing to prevent a meltdown by rearranging #trade and #alliances, bypassing the US. And then there's the struggle to cover up possibly the worst crimes in history, hidden within the #EpsteinFiles.

Add all those to the world's most powerful military, you get the recipe for an apocalyptic tragedy!

[9/10]

Unlike their relevance on the global stage, US's #military and their #nuclear arsenal remain the most formidable. This puts everyone at risk. The Arctic, Europe, Latin & South America, Africa, Middle East, South & South East Asia... The fronts on which the regime fights the world is unbelievable!

I hope that the world recognizes the grave threat that the US regime poses to #GlobalPeace and unite to diffuse it, lest we see a future worse than our past.
