We have a new Jean-Marie Le Pen in France: his name is Jean-Luc #Melenchon. He repeatedly “joked” by deliberately mispronouncing Jewish names to emphasize their supposed foreignness.

Unlike Le Pen, however, who was a fascist, Mélenchon leads a #far-left party. #Antisemitism on the left is nothing new, and it remains a sad reality in #France like in other countries.

Like Jean-Marie Le Pen, #Melenchon knows that #antisemitism works well with disaffected voters, particularly in working-class neighborhoods and communities that feel politically marginalized.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon targets voters in areas where Le Pen's Front National once dominated, but where the mainstreaming of this far-right party has left such voters without a protest vote.

@agaudeul he is, and he feeds it all the time.. one just needs to navigate some far-left forum online to see how raw and unashamed antisemitism is among far-left these days. Go to lemmy.ml and you'll easy find nazi-levels of antisemitism from people claiming to be on the left.

@agaudeul easier to find similarities than differences between those 2 fans of Putin, if you put folklore aside.. what's left of distinction between them? Really not much..
