Feeling very un-Swedish on this train.
(a) I don't have skis with me – Vasaloppet, the world's biggest ski race, took place 50km away yesterday.
(b) I'm wearing shorts not thermals.
(c) I'm not wearing top to toe black. Nor bluetooth headphones.

This round of hummus roulette is going to be over very quickly.
(a) not much hummus in the fridge when I cleared out before leaving home. And only three carrots.
(b) just found out by SMS that there won't be a restaurant car on my Snälltåg to Malmö this evening.

(The rules of #HummusRoulette are elsewhere in my posts. Basically morphed from evading airport security to avoiding food poisoning as my #NotFlying became total.)

Made it to Stockholm no worries.
And despite what I said before about going the cheap way, I'm in the SJ Lounge thanks to a 1st class ticket.
On the train, you just get free tea/coffee and posh (aka boring) neighbours.
But the lounge at Stockholm C has a comfy waiting area, genuinely healthy and tasty veggie food and, er, toilets that don't cost.
The £5 extra I spent to go 1st class would barely buy a coffee. Just the toilet saves £1 a, er, pop (TMI?).

1st class train ticket for a 2½ hour train journey and then the 'free' goodies in the SJ Lounge was 225kr, less than £19.

So I checked. A piss at Stockholm C will set you back 10kr, ie £0.80.

Today's second train gets back on the bargain track.
5 hours from Stockholm to Malmö by Snälltåget for a whopping 149kr, around £12. It's a more classic train than the tilting SJ Snabbtåg, but just as comfortable and only 20 minutes longer journey time.
That ticket was a good find but is the going rate if you book ahead. Oh and the ticket is rebookable if you need to change date.

They do save money on the heating on this Snälltåg. Not cold, but shorts not ideal.
But it may pay dividends if it earns me an edible hummus snack on the Flixbus tomorrow morning.

Almost on time into Malmö C. Sorted me a hotel a 3-minute walk away. Place I've stayed before and on an early March Monday, it's under 600kr (£48) a night, with huge breakfast.
