After a Night of Flight-Free Adventure (travel inspiration as fundraiser for the charity Flight Free UK), #WalesToSweden chuffed (electrically) on to Harwich and now takes a day ferry to Hoek van Holland.
Day ferries and night trains complement each other really well. You have time to sleep, work, or window stare on at least one.

This round of hummus roulette is going to be over very quickly.
(a) not much hummus in the fridge when I cleared out before leaving home. And only three carrots.
(b) just found out by SMS that there won't be a restaurant car on my Snälltåg to Malmö this evening.

(The rules of #HummusRoulette are elsewhere in my posts. Basically morphed from evading airport security to avoiding food poisoning as my #NotFlying became total.)

@bestdeadends wow that sounds cheap! I feel like it would probably cost me that nearly that much to get from the Eurostar terminal back to my home in North Wales. Still #NotFlying tho. Hope the journey goes well!

Setting off at lunchtime for another round of #NotFlying #SwedenToWales

Money saving the priority this time, with day (£30) and night (£35) trains, a Flixbus (£20) through Denmark and a (free) short ferry hop. Then posh Eurostar Plus for under £50.

En route, there'll be #HummusRoulette but the culinary highlight is purportedly Germany's finest fish and chips. Where, you ask? Not saying. Yet.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like #EuropeanSleeper are about to go public with info that @maartje revealed a month or so back.

Their new Berlin–Paris route will call at a "destination in northern Germany" which can surely only be Hamburg (not necessarily Hbf).
If confirmed, that transforms train connections between Scandinavia and the whole of NW Europe (jnc Britain).
Potentially Stockholm to Paris in 21 hours, or to London in about 24.
