Kat O’Brien
Tokyo Marathon done in around 4:09. 5th of 6 World Marathon Majors.
Not near my fastest or near my slowest, happy with race. When I couldn’t run or really live life for ~2 years due to concussion and stroke, didn’t know if I’d be here here, for sure didn’t expect to have run 10 marathons since.

Btw thought you’d appreciate, was at an after-race celebration and guy next to me won an entry to NYC Marathon, which is hard to get and costs several hundred dollars. He was Canadian and told me he’s vowed not to go to the U.S. while Trump is in office.

Giving my major congrats to you for this glorious achivement, Kat and I hope you can get into more marathons like in NYC and Boston one day. It would be amazing.

@joeo10 thanks so much, Joe. Maybe I didn’t phrase well. I’ve been back running for quite some time since that two-year layoff. This was my 10th marathon since then, but wanted to mark that. The long runs are tougher since I was in a car crash in 2023, I want to get the sixth star of the majors - missing London - and hopefully do NYC one more time. And that’s my planned end to marathoning 😁
