Trump says he has lifted 2.4 million off of food stamps. In reality, Trump has introduced requirements which many do not meet, thereby denying food stamps to those in need.

Trump also claims that his tariffs are saving the US and will continue, all applause stops, and the camera cuts to Chief Justice Roberts who looks worried (picture 2).

The speech ended without presenting any new political ideas. It was around 80 percent self-praise and 20 percent repetition of known political positions.

Nevertheless, Trump succeeded in seeming unphased by his mounting problems, and he spoke clearer and more coherently than he has done in other recent speeches.

@randahl Democrats won't necessarily win. Remember that for this regime, every accusation is a confession. THEY plan to cheat and steal, however they can. We don't know what we'll see yet, but I won't put bets on any limit to their depravity in trying to avoid losing this November. And it's not just greed driving them. It's also desperation. For them, this election is existential. They know that if they lose, they can face very serious consequences. They HAVE to win, however they can.
