M41A Pulse Rifle inspiration.
Peace Maker is a modular weapon used by Astronauts to combat hostile lifeforms.
We want to push the design sci-fi as much as possible, but at the same time, we want to keep it in a realistic modern zone.

Kinetic weapon?
Rifling reduces muzzle velocity.
Rifling wears out sooner than smooth bores.

@Photo55 also consider in space there is no friction, so a normal rifle in space can prove to be many times more dangerous than on earth

@16bitnights Have you read Alexis #Gililand's #Rosinante books? Not so much a trilogy as 3 interleaved novels (looking a bit topical BTW)
There's a bit of discussion and business in there about #riflery in #microgravity.

Fire a rifle in near-earth orbit, and if you didn't hit anything the projectile will be back with you in half an orbit.
You might choose a projectile which evaporates in 40 minutes.
