I’m used to getting some pretty unhinged feedback, but, I genuinely haven’t a clue what this is about. 🤨

I’ve found /r/atpfm to be… not for me.

But this is legitimately ★★★★★

🤣🤣

@caseyliss It’s good to know you have options for being history’s greatest monster
@ThatChipGuy @caseyliss I'm just waiting to hear why Casey hates libraries. *cracks knuckles*
@dmoren @ThatChipGuy @caseyliss "Books just burn better at home" is definitely not what Casey said.
@caseyliss isn’t this a misunderstanding that one can BORROW things from a library?
@caseyliss I saw a comment on that subreddit asking if there was different subreddit for people who actually like the podcast. That resonated with me.
@SmileyKeith 100% this
@caseyliss @SmileyKeith Marco did one for overcast. I can’t see why you can’t have an official subreddit. Especially that Marco testifies that when you’re personally involved redittors become actually polite and reasonable.

@Beirutspring @SmileyKeith I hung out in /r/atpfm for a while a year or so ago, and basically all it was was people bitching about me. And some about Marco.

Even when I spent a not-insignificant amount of time there, those attitudes never changed.

@caseyliss @Beirutspring is a large part of the private feedback you receive similarly toxic?

@SmileyKeith @Beirutspring Generally email feedback is one of three things:

• From a person with a name and respectful, even if disagreeing
• One of John’s flying monkeys that is convinced ever doubting him is roughly the same as murdering a kitten (rare, but it happens)
• From someone anonymous, usually with one of the iCloud “send this anonymously” addresses, and fucking vile

@Beirutspring @caseyliss @SmileyKeith it’d be safer / healthier / trad tech to have a web forum, and let subscribers get a star on their name (YouTube does this now)

@caseyliss "I’ve found /r/atpfm to be… not for me."

Me: <let me go see what the fuss is about>
Me: <1..2..3 mins of reading>

Yup, not for me either, Casey! FFS dudes (it's always dudes), get a life.

@leoncowle @caseyliss just did the same thing

Even at its worst it’s terrible at being it. The top 2 entries on the Casey Bingo are missing but I’m refusing to nominate them on the basis of “if it’s good for Reddit it’s bad for mental health” and I’ll allow Casey to guess if he wants but nobody else gets to play 😅🙏

@caseyliss not "for you" in at least two senses
@caseyliss Here's one (1) other gem from there (I can't remember the OP; I've had it saved for years)
@mike @caseyliss dunno the OP but that’s a John Mulaney joke from The Comeback Kid
@caseyliss reddit is just moltbook without the honesty of who is posting there
@caseyliss Now I realize I am not very experienced, I am barely getting into Python but I thought the whole *point* of a library is so you *can* use the code, in efect steal it? Am I wrong?
@jane_jordan I genuinely don’t know if this person was talking about a code library or a book library
@caseyliss Oh. I assumed code. Hahahaha! Library books? I used to, ahem, borrow and take longer than usual returning--one year I couldn't get my college schedule confirmed until I got a library fine paid off since I managed to "accidentally keep a book for an entire year...
@caseyliss It wasn't really an accident, the story was just so intriguing and I couldn't find it on tape anywhere else.. that i just kept it and listened to it over...and over.... LOL
