@atpfm one thing the Apple account lockout discussion made me think of was Sign In with Apple. Here Apple locking your account not only hoses all your Apple stuff but potentially also your accounts with other third party services. Bad news.
@marcoarment at the brewery tonight this crew were playing Christmas carols and it made me think of your “if you’re picturing a tuba you’re probably actually picturing a sousaphone” comment.
@caseyliss I bought the O’Reilly polar bear book recently, and was looking through it this morning - did you know you’re an example in it?
@atpfm hearing @siracusa talk about the MacBook Air having a bad screen because it’s not HDR made me think about how incredibly rare it probably is for people to have HDR on their desk. I don’t usually think of the Mac as a platform with HDR because my monitors both at work and home don’t have it, and it’s not all that often I use my MBP in laptop mode, and for that reason I suspect most people think the MBA screen is just fine after it got retina.
@gruber re the comments on Dithering about auctioning tickets - I appreciate the way Pearl Jam has done this the past few tours - some (maybe most) tickets sold by lottery for $200 each, some sold dynamically which end up going for ~$1k. You can pick the sure thing, or you can try your luck, but it’s difficult to feel any aspect of it is unjust.
@siracusa I’m a little sad you didn’t reference this scene this week https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSimpsons/s/jHlKb1yrY5
@marcoarment so sorry to hear about Hops. Sounds like y’all gave him a great home. He was excellent for MacBook scale: https://marco.org/2015/05/19/mistake-one

I saw the “IndieWeb is Punk” shirt earlier this summer and found a way to make more unofficial #IndieWeb merch happen.

@atpfm I know this is about tennis but it just looks like someone is upset with one of the three of you.
@siracusa sorry for the weird question, but - looks like your old mainstay Italian restaurant recommendation didn’t survive covid. What’s your go to in Boston these days?
