Women's cross country. Silver place - Sweden - FELL OVER...... *TWICE*..... THEN FELL OVER AGAIN AND LOST! HER! SKI!..... the technician who brings her a replacement ski ALSO FALLS OVER!... then she came back from 8th to get silver. Holy moly.

That is quite something.

@TheBreadmonkey Sounds quite slippery up there. I’d stay in the bar and warm myself by the fire if it were me.

@TheBreadmonkey

- Not competing?

- No, I was banned by the IOC for wearing a helmet depicting my colleagues who died in the war. What about you?

- Oh, I just didn’t fancy it this morning.

@Nickiquote @TheBreadmonkey Olympic drinking. Now that's a sport.
@jmax @TheBreadmonkey You should always warm up for it with an Olympic breakfast.
@TheBreadmonkey What's most interesting to me is that the slick course was blamed on "mild temperatures and rain." I wonder if Climate change has now made the Winter Olympics a gamble? You can't depend on freezing temperatures anymore, in places where you normally would have before.

@kimlockhartga Ski stations at lower altitudes in the Alps have been closing hand over fist over the past decades.

@TheBreadmonkey

@davep @TheBreadmonkey yeah. I'm wondering how many places are left where you can count on ski conditions for the entire Winter?
@TheBreadmonkey
What the heck? Was the rest of the pack piled up in a multiple skier accident?
