Getting ready for Bandcamp Friday tomorrow. I am keen to find some quiet music, not necessarily slow, but calming. Meandering melodies, pauses, piano? Recommendations? I am not releasing anything for a while now since I am busy writing #BandcampFriday
@SeaFury some of the Black Boboi songs could fit the bill

@SeaFury While listening to a Calexico-based mix, I came across an artist named Andrew Bird. I haven't had a chance to check their back catalogue, but might be worth a try? Could be a bit more lively than what you are seeking.

Let us know what you come up with, please.

@ghost_shit I need a blog to put all the info I got today about blogs and also this info about calm music. Hmmmmmmmm. I do not have one right now.

From our many #AccordionBandcamp recommendations one artist who comes to mind is Belgian artist/composer Sara Salverius

Her two recordings are rich and extremely moving

Sometimes similar to ambient, other times classical organ music or folk melodies

There’s some variety. But mostly might fit what you’re looking for

Yara Asmar from Beirut is another, more experimental perhaps, artist I look forward to all her releases

Very hard to know which to recommend, especially since you can only sample a few tracks

The newest record is I think less melodic / more reaching as she’s left home for America in what can only be troubling times

I suggest the earlier records to start

@SeaFury you know of Lazerbeak? He’s got a new EP that might be what you’re looking for

@SeaFury I recently discovered Narrow Skies. Gentle ambient pop with lyrics that are often nature focused

This ambient compilation is also on my wishlist https://hawkmoonrecords.bandcamp.com/album/hawk-moon-records-volume-vii

Narrow Skies

Hong Kong-based Narrow Skies are husband-and-wife Anita & Ben Tatlow. Dark alt-pop infused with ethereal vocals and an atmospheric production style, the duo's new ongoing project Heartsongs explores themes of the mind, soul, and heart.

Narrow Skies

@SeaFury I really like this compilation but they do a heap of good ones:

@SeaFury The piano version of "Fairytale of New York" is delightful and would meet those criteria imo.

@SeaFury I have enjoyed "Adrift" by theAdelaidean & deepspace

It's relaxing and gentle, a continuous movement of slow transitions; a bit like some of your own pieces.

@SeaFury I missed your invitation at the start of this month. I would have just recommended my own music/recordings anyway. 🤓🎶🎹
