Frontrunner #Burnham is excluded. #Rayner is most popular alternative, but busy with #HMRC. Ambitious rightwingers #WesStreeting & #ShabanaMahmood can win only if Rayner is still on the bench.
So the incentives are inverted. Rayner is the most anti-Starmer candidate, but needs him to stay on. #Starmtroopers #Streeting & Mahmood need Starmer gone now.

Rayner has treated some people badly, it would seem: her former flatmate MP; her former lover MP; the Brum refuse collectors. She may not be what she appears.
@linuxgnome I was just writing about the strangely perverse tactical choices facing the various would-be leaders of #LINO.
In terms of their conduct and political values, I find them all curious shades of grim. #Rayner has sharp elbows as you rightly note, but also a record on policy which is much much less principled than she likes to present it.
Rayner is more politically skilled than the inept #Starmer, tho that's a low bar. And she tells a good story. But I'd not vote for any of them.
