I want to be clear about where I stand. I support classic psychedelics like psilocybin, psilocin, Mescaline, LSD, and also cannabis, not because I think everyone should use them, but because I believe in the freedom of consciousness.

This isn’t a war on drugs; it’s a war on consciousness itself. The stigma surrounding psychedelics has been built and reinforced by decades of fear-based media and institutional control. Simply talking about these substances bout to send some people on the Fediverse into outrage, which says more about the conditioning than about the substances themself.

I am proudly pro-psychedelics. For those struggling with depression, PTSD, or deep emotional wounds, these tools, when used with respect and proper guidance, can offer genuine healing. They can also serve as a way for anyone seeking to explore the layers of their own ego and understand themselves on a deeper level.

But as we know, society and cultures often treat altered states of mind as something dangerous, when in reality, they are among humanity’s oldest pathways to growth, connection, and awakening.

Mainly authoritarian ones. When you watch the classic video of the soldiers dosed with LSD and sent out to run wargames, it quickly becomes obvious why they fear entheogens.

I prefer the term 'entheogen' to 'psychedelic', although I prefer that term to 'hallucinogen'. I don't believe that what we see during entheogenic journies are hallucinations, but alternate ways of framing reality.

Yeah, I get what you’re saying about authoritarian systems, and that is exactly the point. The moment altered states stop producing obedient workers and compliant soldiers, capital panics. That old LSD wargame footage is not a mystery. It is an accidental confession. Psychedelics do not fail the system. They expose it.

Psychedelics like LSD and psilocybin were criminalized because they interfered with obedience and productivity. Capitalism depends on workers who are numb, fragmented, and disconnected from themselves and each other. Anything that encourages people to question authority, refuse alienation, and imagine life beyond wage labour is treated as a threat.

What angers me most is how effective the propaganda has been, even among people who oppose repression in other areas. Fear replaces evidence. Moral panic replaces material analysis. Psychedelics only became “dangerous” when they undermined hierarchy, nationalism, and capitalist discipline, not because they harmed working-class people.

The real danger is not people exploring their own minds. The real danger is capitalism, policing, and the ongoing criminalization of it. LSD and shrooms are not harming you. Capitalism is.
