Doing my best to recognize the good when I experience it:

1- the delightful feeling of motorbiking on a sunny day, wind in my hair, passing a body of water, the breeze cools all around us.

2- appreciating the people here who are calling out bullshit and lifting up those that are struggling. If ever there was a week I want to quit fedi, it's this week. Please be kind.

3- meditating with Buddha at my favorite temple I hear the sound of someone imitating the birds calling around us. I peek to see a young father, restless baby in his arms. He is calming her by simply holding her, walking gently, listening to the environment and responding with his own calls, teaching his daughter the language of birds, birds calling to let us know it's safe here, no predators around.

Bonus, this is my favorite meditation spot where I heard and saw the bird calling walking papa referenced in the post above

@MamaLake

Are you living out on the islands?

@Wintergr33n when I first got to Thailand three years ago I lived on Koh Phangan for several months. So so so lovely 🥰 🏝️🌊🌅
Now I live in Ayutthaya with family and I love it. What islands have you been to or are you interested in?

@MamaLake

I spent a month relaxing on Koh Chang back before it got developed (1999).

Passed through Phang An and Samui circa Y2K.

Went to a very off-the-map Koh Man Ork (sp?) with Thais.

Doesn't really count, but there's a tiny island in the middle of the river Kwai in Kanchanaburi with a little resort on it (Kasem Island Resort).

And I've been to Koh Samet.

@Wintergr33n ah, you've been to way more than me :) glad you got that time, Thailand is so kind.
I technically also resided on the island of Ayutthaya, as the old Towne is technically an island between two rivers. ;)
