To be fair, in the video itself it mentions #MeshTastic being used during a disaster, so it isn't entirely without merit. Though it's probably pragmatic not to rely on any one piece of technology to begin with.
@Blackstarwritings Meshtastic is buggy, tempremental, easily disrupted and jammed, believe me this is coming from someone who likes it and has many, many different nodes and models, I’ve experimented with it a lot.

Meshtastic isn't solely for the purpose of infrastructure going out, it has a lot of uses that aren't being tapped into because we don't have the nodes.

Also, to be honest, something feels slightly spammy about the fact that you responded to something about an interesting open source technology with a video of you starting a fire with sticks. Like as much as I'm into that sort of thing, and used to do it before I became disabled, it feels a bit dismissive about talking about this technology...
@Raccoon @staustellsimon @Blackstarwritings Hey, I totally agree with what you said about Meshtastic. The video was in response to the other comment about relying on smoke signal instead, it’s me in the video generating smoke 🤦♂️ I’ve also suffered a serious illness in the past year which has disabled me somewhat, I couldn’t do the bow drill now if I wanted to :-(
