I expect better from Bellingcat, but do you have concerns about the authenticity and the analysis?
If so, then 'appears' is reasonable, but otherwise , 'our analysis and the video contradict the government's narrative'
@mtnrbq65 @Bellingcat I have concerns about creeping fascism. The use of the word âappearsâ is a poor choice, in that it provides legitimacy to the government narrative.
If it is not yet clear, at the point that non-violent protesters like Ms. Good are being murdered in the streets, and hundreds have disappeared from detention, there is no middle ground anymore.
I understand that organizations have a responsibility to the law, even when the lawmakers are no longer responsible. I think that the clause containing âappearsâ avoids taking a side that needs to be taken, and which could have been taken comparatively easily, without losing professionalism, by the simple removal of any reference to the Trumpist narrative.
@mtnrbq65 @Bellingcat
Try this:
â DHS claims he died after an armed struggle.â No evidence has been released to support this claim.
Factual? Better?
It was a murder, an execution actually... like the previous...
This should never have happened, and it should never happen again. Those responsible need to be held accountable...
Shame on this bastard. He should have been in jail already...
@Bellingcat what is with y'all and this phrase "appears to"? I can "appear to" levitate if you take a picture of me jumping.
The videos full on contradict ICE's statements. That's it, that's the headline.
Y'all are supposed to be better than this-- even the New York Times stopped saying this already.
FFS Look out the fucking window and tell us if it's raining.
