It would be easy to be taken in.
My clues?
When I told the “officer” I was a teacher, he sounded—for a second—rueful.
When I followed up by asking what would happen if I notified the FBI about the phone call, he hung up.
But it took awhile to get to this point.

It's embarrassing to admit I got scammed, but I think it's important we talk about it. Because if I can fall victim to it, a lot of people could. At about 2:30 PM on Tuesday afternoon, I got a call from someone who had blocked their caller ID. I ignored the first two calls, but when a 3rd came in, I picked up.
