Lawyer calls it "outrageous that the White House would make up stories."

@arstechnica "GenAI is the new aesthetic of fascism" is probably true in many ways ... here another file in the drawer.
@arstechnica There is no low that is too low.
@arstechnica It should be no surprise to anybody that anything coming out of the Whitewashing House is probably going to be a lie.
@arstechnica it takes a demented mind to even consider doing something like this.
@arstechnica Despicable. We are truly living in 1984.
@arstechnica Remember, this is all an awful, cruel distraction from the fact that normal people extracted a moment's consequences, even if just the prospect of social sanction, from one of Trump's ICE goons. They're supposed to be masked and untouchable and these people were able to expose Pastor ICE Goon to his community. For one brief moment, one of their own had to feel real discomfort, and that has them shook.

#PostOfTheWeek (season 3):
The Trump White House yesterday posted a manipulated photo of Nekima Levy Armstrong, a Minnesota civil rights attorney who was arrested after protesting in a church where a pastor is allegedly also an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official.

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem posted what seems to be the original photo of Armstrong being led away by an officer yesterday morning. A half hour later, the official White House X account posted an altered version in which Armstrong’s face was manipulated to make it appear that she was crying.
@arstechnica outrageous but par for the course at this point
@arstechnica it's just amazing how these people have no dignity. They control the most powerful government in the world yet they're so pathetic and weak that they choose to lie and bully on people who can't fight back.
@arstechnica I'm like 90% sure this counts as libel
@arstechnica They also lie about it being a “riot”.
