Woke up to Logi Options+ not launching on my MacBook, so now none of my Logitech equipment works as I expect; e.g., the scroll direction is inverted.

Tried restarting the machine, completely removing Logi Options+, and reinstalling it. Nothing works.

😫

@simonbs Their Apple Developer certificate expired 🫣

Edit: Apps can run without a valid certificate, but their update mechanism, which for some reason is a hard requirement for the app to run, does additional validation which is outside of the scope of what Apple is requiring.

@technocidal @simonbs does macOS really prevent a signed app from running if the certificate is expired although the app was signed when it was valid?
@simonbs not alone, and without the app working my mouse is glitching the scrolling (i tweaked it)
LinearMouse | The mouse and trackpad utility for Mac.

Customize mouse and trackpad's scrolling direction, pointer acceleration, pointer speed and so on...

@rob @robb Thanks! I'm trying out alternatives right now.

Linear Mouse doesn't seem to let me turn off Smooth Scrolling entirely. It enables Smooth Scrolling when I scroll fast.

BetterMouse has a setting to turn it off but that doesn't seem to be working.

SteerMouse seems to be working best for me right now.

@simonbs SteerMouse is the best option imho!

@rob @robb Finally figured out how to disable Smooth Scrolling in BetterMouse:

1. Enable Ratchet mode.
2. Disengage to max so it becomes "Always engage”.

@simonbs @rob @robb I’ve been using BetterMouse to replace LogiOptions for about a year for exactly this purpose. Since figuring it out, overall it’s been far more stable. I’ve also been using BetterTouchTool for configuring other buttons, because I found it to be a little more understandable for that purpose. BTT has recently been adding a lot of support for Logitech devices specifically.

Logitech Support + Download
@pax0707 @simonbs Ran into this issue, thanks for sharing the solution.
@simonbs They even sent out an email just now, urging us to redownload the software (with the presumed fix in it).
@simonbs got e-mail from them asking me to update it. So it’s probably major issue
@simonbs I recommend to switch to BetterTouchTool, which was updated recently to support Logitech mouses. A bit strange configuration but works flawlessly
@P1oWad I downloaded BetterTouchTool earlier today and after spending a couple of minutes in it, I ditched it. It’s way to overwhelming for what I need.
@simonbs Yeah, I can imagine. I have it for few years and still I use it only for few basic things. But it saved my life today because of this Logi issue
