@eyeling I used to make frozen bubbles for my chickens to peck.
@Shanmonster Did they like them? I don't imagine they taste good.
@eyeling they just pecked them and then walked away.

@eyeling very interesting! How cold does it need to be for the bubbles to freeze instead of bursting?
@ebauche At least -8°C and no wind whatsoever. They break down if you even look at them sternly.
@eyeling that sounds like quite the challenge 😁

@eyeling Beautiful texture, colours and light! ✨

Would love to boost, unfortunately it doesn't work.

Edit: just now it worked 😐

@jill Thank you! Strange that boosting doesn't work. It should.

@eyeling interesting results! is this digital or using the old kodak colour IR film stock?

appreciate you might not want to share details of your process, but it never hurts to ask and learn :)

@jon_ellis I try to be as open as possible about my process. I suuuuuuuuck at any analogue technique due to impatience. So: fully digital, shot on a used Nikon D7100 converted to 550nm. Image channel-switched, obviously, but not a lot of additional editing.

@eyeling thanks!

when you say "converted" you mean sent away to someone to remove the IR filter and replace it with a 550nm pass filter in front of the sensor?

@jon_ellis Indeed. Sven Lamprecht does a good job: https://irrecams.de/

@eyeling thank you for the sharing :)
@eyeling These infrared photos are stunning!!! Looks like something out of a storybook... (and I must say, what a relief it is to have someone on my timeline whose posts I can comfortably assure myself that your photos are *not* AI generated!)
@SkellySoft Thank you. Not the most popular technique in the mainstream, but so much fun to experiment with!
Our strictly enforced NO-AI rule is one of the reasons mastodon.art is such a relaxing place. Seeing all the slop clogging up other media and even getting promoted by good photographers is very disheartening.
