When Republicans in their 30s get caught supporting Hitler in a group chat, conservatives call them “kids.”

When underage girls get sexually abused by Trump's friends (and probably Trump), conservatives call them “young women.”

The language tells you everything you need to know about GOP morality and family values.

@augieray It feels like a simple basic humanity, doesn't exist (in their heads). Don't hurt people, isn't a difficult rule to live by. Yes, people might hurt you, but retribution, and preemptive retribution is idiotic, as it can only ever fuel hate and fear.
@augieray What do they care? It wasn't *their* daughter. Besides the Prosperity Gospel teaches them that bad things happen to people because somehow God wanted it that way.
@augieray what they really meant, of course, was “handmaiden”.
@augieray While I agree with you that the description of each group is reprehensible, I find the hasty generalization at the end to be one that will lock people into their political identities. The response will be “How dare you say that about me!” rather than a personal morally reflective response.
@augieray I get that calling it out feels good. I am just careful about how language lands. If we want people to examine their own choices, painting the whole group with a single brush usually shuts that down. That is my only point.
@lancehomer If you think MAGA people follow me and will be informed by what I post, I think you're wrong. I post to like-minded people, and I hope they stay enraged, engaged and eager to vote.

@augieray @lancehomer

Self-confessed cheerleader here. I agree completely.

Keeping an ally standing and engaged is a crucial and worthy task.

@lancehomer sometimes one of the sides really is horrible, and wrong, and beyond redemption, Lance.

Stop enabling them.
@augieray

@Tattie @lancehomer @augieray nah both sides suck, Bill Clinton and other dems are somewhere there, and Harvey Weinstein was a huge democrat protected by Hillary and fam.

George Stephanopolous was reported to be on Epstein parties so i suspect that the truth will not come out as many expect it.

But the republicans have completely destroyed their chaste and puritan reputation by defending Donald Trump, so it does look worse than what Democrats have done.

@augieray I hear you but why is this only a conservative thing? Dems have also hidden this and are also guilty of the same thing. I am just concerned that issues become issues only when the other side is doing them when we're looking at it through this narrow lense of partisan politics. Some conservatives are calling for the release of all evidence and others want it hidden. Some dems also want it hidden and they have things to hide as well. They could have used it to bring Trump down but then maybe they knew it'll bring them down as well.
@Extimate_cookie The Dems are ready to release. There are few Dems who disagree. Meanwhile, Republicans are still blocking a vote.

@augieray @Extimate_cookie

...and the GOP are brutally attacking their own people who want the vote, up to and including death threats.

@Extimate_cookie @augieray There aren't as many dems. The core beliefs of the dems are like 'treat others with respect', 'listen to victims' and other ideology that increase risk for abusers.

The right is about might makes right, he with the gold makes the rules, and that sort of stuff. It's an aggregator for people who are selfish narcissistic and desperate for power, and who is easier to take power from than children who lack the physical and psychological prowess to defend.

@obscurestar @augieray I think that's a bit simplistic. The dems are also complicit in many war crimes throughout the years. The dems put a face of civility and will use the correct words but still do the same policies but underhandedly and sometimes less intensively. This is simply the politics of fake civility and will actually throw you under the bus when it's not convenient anymore. This is documented by many left historians who are critical also of dems when it's required. ICE for example was active during Biden and Obama, but less intensively and with some right rhetorical maneuvers. Kamala run a campaign with the daughter of a butcher who helped massacre people in the middle east. The list goes on. The politics of civility is not viable anymore because people can see that you pretend to be for human rights with one hand and slaughter people with the other. Politicians who are slaves to donors and slave to moneyed interests are not your friends, be it conservatives or dems.

@Extimate_cookie @augieray Generalizations are inherently simplistic as are your whataboutisms. I certainly did not use absolutes, referring to the environment of the dems as more hostile and that of the GOP as more supportive of child molesters. Of course one can hide on the left. They merely don't have to hide very hard on the right.

Also, we are talking about groups comprised of many people. Simplistic 'core values' is the correct tool for generalized statements about the group.

@Extimate_cookie @augieray Here, let's use an example even a child can understand in hopes it it base enough for you to grasp.

Probably most everyone who has driven a car has at some point intentionally sped at least once. The bulk of those people who dipped the toe into breaking the law probably did it out on an open road where no one was around and they had little fear of getting caught. They didn't stop the gas downtown in front of a school next to a convent.

The GOP protects narcissists.

@obscurestar Here is an old article for example of how Hispanics were critical of Obama's deportation policies. It's also estimated, although I can't be sure, that Obama deported more people than Trump. If someone could correct me on that I'd be grateful. He did stick to the law or some semblance of it at least, though. So it appears more "humane", but the results are also devastating to many families, still. Ironically sometimes terrible politicies and even war crimes are enacted but with this veneer of international law and order, which makes them hard to resist. Obama was ruthless on foreign politicy and was the middle east drone strikes guy.

TV appearance shows immigration hurting Obama among Hispanics

As the president tries to promote his health-care law, he is grilled on immigration issues.

The Washington Post

@Extimate_cookie Oh no worries. I guessed you were a desperate spam bot from the way your original post was written. You should tell your programmer to stop cutting and pasting from AI as not being able to stick to the subject is a hallmark of extremely lazy and incompetent programming.

Please do go right ahead and claim that you're a human who lacks the mental functionality of even a poorly written spam bot tho. I don't mind.

@obscurestar I have no idea what you mean. English is not my first language. Why does that make me an AI bot? I'm a non-american leftist who is tired of the American left embracing fake civility politics as their country fucks over countries abroad. It's obviously laughable to claim that dems are not involved with Epstein. I traced this mode of thinking to a general tendency of libs to only care about horrible shit when a Republican is doing it

@augieray

They haven’t any…

@augieray TL;DR: The GOP is filled with emotionally stunted children who lack the basic life skills teen girls possess.
@augieray they can do and say whatever they want, the problem is most of media - traditional/corporate, social and new all downplays and normalises it, thus "normies" are completely oblivious to all of this. This isn't unique to US, this is the norm everywhere for right wingers they are always given the benefit of doubt and the most leeway possible.
@augieray inevitable conclusion is that it’s not pedophilia when Republicans do it because they are mentally twelve years old
@augieray THey have neither? I'd go with that Bob,
@augieray I mean always has, this is why and most things you can’t trust with #republicans
