The ranger accurately described the difficulty and steepness of the trail leading up to Hoh Lake, but didn’t quite mention that the trail has been effectively abandoned. But my fault for looking on the map at a trail that heads straight up to the High Divide area and thinking that sounded fun. Camping alone at the lake was majestic. A small black bear chased a small deer out of the forest at one point, it got away!
