@Em0nM4stodon I'm pretty sure "What about the children" is just an excuse for corporate spying - something that has been going on for decades. Before internet connections were common, a friend (who had an Apple system) bought a Microsoft product and it would let you use a fax modem to register it. He used that but configured the fax software to show what was being sent before it went out. He found it included a list of all the applications on his computer. He complained.

@Em0nM4stodon was a great article at the time! I wonder if it's still the same players pushing for chat control. WeProtect, Oak Foundation, Thorn...are the still around after the mini scandal of the 2023 proposal? I really want to believe Johanson is finally off the board but who knows...
