Tell us what you’re working on now. What’s special about the project?

Still Star Ryde.
Well special i only jumped back to it thanks to the prompt games here on Mastodon and in my megalomaniac mind I create a franchise not a Book... And I struggle to come along so in another megalomaniac move I set my goal for this month to double the amount of existing words this means 30.000 words for the write month where I just got done 22.000 since last write month (which made me write 10.000) but you know if I don't succeed it's okay. I'm glad about every bit I get done.

Describe a perfect reader for your story (i.e. who is the story for?)

The perfect reader does not exist this I do not think about them. I do instead think about persons for who I'm working on my story.
1. Me
2. People that are like me to a degree.
3. my aim for Star Ryde as an example is an average to deep invested SciFi Person that liked Star Trek, Mass Effect and similar.
4. Queer people.
5. People that are open minded for a "luke warm" warm up of many SciFi 'tropes' & topics remixed & rearranged with lessons I took from Terry Pratchett and others, plus my own spin on things.

Share something unusual about one of your characters’ lives.

Ashlei would love to cook if she had a Humanoid body.
But she isn't programmed to love, or cook or have a Humanoid body so she only can tinker with the EQuil mix in the Enzyme printer.

Kira lost her whole family & almost her life at what was considered a normal day in the park, with 6 years. She found a loving 2. family but the tragedy struck once more as her 2. Father died. After which her 2. mother acted like Kira was somehow infectectious.

Arkham had a relatively balanced childhood as long as her Father lived, he died as she was 8. Her mom than turned up her Draconian behavior to 11, forcing Arkham to "live out her dream" (that of the mother) forcing her into all kinds of 'Hobbies' like music, dancing, poetry, arts.
On an Union core world Arkham would have been protected, sadly her mother took her to a colonial world close to the Rim. Arkham fled & lived on the street as she turned 13. Taking on the name Arkham.

A.S.H.L.E.I. is only 6 years, her 'childhood' was reinforced learning behavior, patterns, data analysis etc.

Are you working on one or several projects? What’s your preference?

Multitasking kills the progression Star to quote a musical title very inaccurate.

That said for the life of me I can't focus on one thing alone. That's why I have next to Star Ryde, the overflow, or rest ramp as we call it some times of Galaxy Glyde, where a lot of stuff is ment to go I cut out of Star Ryde. I also have the crazy idea of working very occasionally on the Star Ryde Self Insert Romance Alternate Universe, which makes me a character in my own stories because why not. Star Ryde itself is a Multi layer Project ment to be a rival to Star Trek or Mass Effect (as I said before if you aim for the stars why aim for the nearest) because I am a bit crazy... Like Mad scientist meets writer with imposter complex...
And all da Plotbunnies ... I'm doomed.🤪😂
As an "early retirement do to health" person, I have the time but not the discipline.😅

What community or group does your antagonist belong to?

Ariaene Johnsen/AJ is the first hench for the unknown entity that only is referred to as AI (Antagonist Infernale has no name yet).
A person or a group of people that has suspiciously good information about everyone & everything going on. AJ lives & works from a ship called the Nethrazier. It is not much known about the ship itself, its not unusual for ships to have holographic cloaking systems, the crew wears mostly black armor & helmets that hide their faces, most seem Terran, no one on board has ever spoken to AI directly other than AJ, but AJ wouldn't talk even if they would remember who is behind AI. AJ claims to be a S.H.A.D.E. but this claims can't be verified. They act eerily similar to Seraph a terrorist branded group that claims to be part of Gaia Unika the main philosophy Terras.

How is the antagonist’s community/group perceived by the people in your world?

well their is more than one antagonististic force in the Star Ryde universe.

The stories Antagonist isn't the known quantity sort of.

Most people in the Union see Matriarc, the Bethosian Outcast, as the most dangerous Antagonist for the Union.

Only few citizens would knew about AJ or AI directly. Their black armored Marines on the other hand are often seen around battlefields.
Most in the military think that they might be part of a Terran centric separatist group that call themselves Seraph.

How is the MC’s community/group perceived by the people in your world?

I take some of them.

S.H.A.D.E.S. are a special forces unit that are partly hidden. Usually there is one openly announced Shade on each mission. This people can use great powers like taking command over a entire fleet and act without waiting for Brass decisions. However to make sure that a Shade doesn't act against the interest of the Union 4-9 Shades are deployed with them secretly. Only the ships A.I. knows about their identity and they have insignia to proof their claims if necessary. Which makes Kira's merge with ASH a bit risky...
As with all such organisations they foster different opinions. Some see them as heroes that are needed others see them as a catastrophe waiting to happen.

The Alliance is the the military training and strike force of the Union while the Union itself has a military force this are more like the U.N. troops ➡️

⬅️ in our time. The Union military also handles defense matters. The only way to go into the Union military is by going through the alliance training. The general opinion is positive and they are seen as needed. The Alliance is seen as a benevolent Force that ensures that average citizen can life a peaceful life. The Alliance patrols the Boarders of Union Spaces and makes sure that Eltaryn encounters don't go into full blown planetary invasions, they also handle pirates and hostile mercenary forces.

The (non military) Union. government of 6 core member species & 64 associated + an unknown amount of trade member species. Core species handle the government, course of action, bringing the bulk of the defensive & offensive force as setting the Union Standards. Associated members are protected/supported by them & strive to implement the rules set by the cores democratic council. Trade members are exactly that.➡️

⬅️ they agree to begin the formation into a associate member, gaining protection & support from the Union.

The Unions Council are a group of democratic elected leaders, each core world nominates a leader & several ministers, this are challenged/supported by core member & associated member groups of ministers. This are only partly elected & partly randomly chosen citizens. After a legislature 9 autocratic leaders are chosen randomly for a year.
Most people think its incredibly complicated but necessary to prevent things like Lobbyist intervention. In general most citizens are okay how this works in the long run but few look forward to being randomly chosen themselves.

The Phoenix is the flagship & mobile government of the Union. Build to prevent planetary favorism. The Phoenix fleet is its defensive & support fleet. The ship indeeds looks like a giant bird to a degree.
It's seen as a honor to host the fleet.

Which community/group (from questions 5&7) is stronger? Why?

A.I. claims to work to preserve the Union, A.J. claims to be an S.H.A.D.E., the Union seems to tolerate the Black dressed Marines on the battlefield & no hostile encounters between the Nethrazier & any Union/Alliance ship are known. The Nethrazier has been seen fighting Eltaryn Ships in space alongside Union/Alliance ships.
S.H.A.D.E.S. derive their power from Union Sanctioned Laws, the Alliance is part of the Unions military & trains the Shades, if A.J. wants to claim Union/Alliance Assets it's only working because of the Shades Status granted by Union law to graduates of the Alliance Shades Training. The asset ships have their own shades, so several Shades are around to challenge such a claim if they seem it necessary.
The Nethrazier is a warship of big size but it seems to have no fleet, no one knows if their even is a fleet & AI clearly keeps secrets close.

Arkham: "Oh come on be a bit fun."

K.: "Did you want to imply that I'm not?"
A.: "You can be funny but that's quite literally one of the better Psychological Evaluations questions lately. I'm sure I could ask Ash?"
K: "Ash wouldn't tell you because I simply don't want it."
A: "I could ask very nicely."
Ash: With all do respect FC, I am bound to honor the Captains wishes, I am your friend but disclosing a secret of the Captain would set a dangerous example for the crew that I am not trustworthy.
K: "Thank you Ash. Arkham, Imzadi, how about askin me very nicely? In private, later tonight? But don't give me a reason to regret it, please."
A: "Why you don't want to share it openly?"
K: "Because I'm the captain & even in a tight knit family, not everyone needs to know everything, even less so on a military vessel."

I can describe the colors and the sounds but not use the real things.

Answering this question in an other way, I would have preferred, has turned into an two hour rabbit hole of my own making, so I leave it with that, because I have more on my plate than blasting my own time schedule, sorry 😅

Usually I would write skip in such cases but well today it is what it is.

In its unknown, secret hideout the great force behind the scenes, Antagonist Infernale (AI), opens a never delivered package that nobody ordered, from the space delivery giant nobody uses 'aVoid.' what happened nobody can tell because no one has seen nothing that never happened.

Or maybe AJ opens a box full of nothing which transfers the energy uf infinite uncertainty onto their body so it's starts vibrating catapults itself out of existence with a "SKIP."

Describe the setting of your last writing session (where, what time, sounds, smells, etc.). How did it go?

Thursday morning
Bed after midnight.
Smelled like me in my bedroom? Sounds, only my fingers tapping on the smartphone with the typical 'klack' by fingernails, reduced light from my phone screen and from my black light, which also added some faint humming from the lamp itself. I used to have one black light source in every room, but only two survived, for more than 10 years and I never bothered to replace them.

Went well ~1800 words.
It's way easier for me to write in my hanging chair. Gently swinging back and for.

Or do you mean in story?
Hospital, patient room, two beds, the vid screen showed news of an attack.
Smell? Like any hospital I would assume. I didn't sniff my imagination, nor any body parts of mine which would probably smell like human.

If your antagonist magically appeared in your home, would you two get along?

Well in case of A.I. I would probably assume someone try to spy on me sending me an Alexa device or some compound SH17.

AJ would be a different thing. They is a very extreme person. They is a special forces soldier o.o.c. and the tec they uses is magic from our perspective but in the other hand Ariaene also has severe memory issues and it would absolutely depend from which situation they arrive at my home and where.

Sleeping in my bed would be the worst case scenario because that's usually the time when AJ wakes without memory how they got somewhere after a shipload of bad dreams.
And I don't think "you popped into existence under my blankets" will help in deescalating the scene.

@AlinaLeonova i can dig so deep holes for myself occasionally. The question about colors & songs started with the idea: "okay paint a quick picture in my awful style on the phone."

I didn't found the functionality I was looking for so I crawled for it in the net, stumbled upon color coding.
Okay well doesn't work out maybe a sound collage.
Doesn't work with the code of mastodon.
I was part of a goth site on the net, back in the early 2000s where you could inbed everything at any point of a post as long it was previously uploaded to you profile (similar like the playlists on MySpace back in the day)
Of course that didn't work.
Okay than let us look for YouTube videos with sounds you want to portrait your stories feeling.
Oh look the scene from movie XYZ in HD remastered with Dolby nice lets watch if it fits...
Oh a theory of how the Antagonist in that film ...
And than I stumbled over a short that used tbe SpongeBob 2 hours later meme...
At that point I gave up.😅

@AlinaLeonova it's a horrible habit at times, and for some reason regardless of how many rabbit holes I fell into not a single time I have come out in wonderland... Always some weird corner of the Internet.😅
