FINAL Day 19 of my #retirement #bikepacking tour on #Brompton folding #bike : Casalbordino -> San Salvo (the last 35 km - mostly on the fantastic cycle path "Via Verde della Costa dei Trabocchi" which stops here; further South there are only roads with heavy #traffic ).

Thank you for your attention to this matter!

@KlausGerdGiesen Thanks for sharing. It was fun following your journey!
@Pepijn Thank you for your kindness.
@KlausGerdGiesen Wow, just saw this post, now I have to go look through your entire journey, this looks SO AWESOME
@KlausGerdGiesen Thank you ever so much for sharing this with us all. I have very much enjoyed 'being there' with you on your journey :¬)
@UrbanDjent Thank you for your kind comment.
@KlausGerdGiesen I very much enjoyed following along.

@KlausGerdGiesen: Thanks for having taken us with you on that journey. Definitely inspiring. So the Italian Adria coastline also got on my bicycle touring bucket list.

By the way, how did you stay overnight on that journey? Hotels? B&B? Camping?

@xtaran Thank you so much. 🙏 We stayed in private accommodation, B&B, small hotels, etc. Offseason it's a bargain. Most campings are now anyway already closed.
@KlausGerdGiesen I really love the idea of a retirement bikepacking "like forever" tour 😁

@KlausGerdGiesen hi! i have a similar trip in mind. were you satisfied by the east/north path you took? i have 2 options, either going west/south and then cross the country after rome, or going east/north like you did. but i'm a bit scared by the north route. cycle lanes seems to be more developped on the west coast.

have you encountered unsecured situations? thanks a lot

@yanndegat Crossing Italy from west to east (or vice versa) was not an option, as it is too mountainous. We went East-South. Overall, the route was very safe, especially from Domodossola in the Alps down to Milano downtown, and the last few stages along the Adriatic coast: both with lots of bike paths. The exceptions: entering Ancona from the north, and a series of bridges and major road sections for which there was no alternative.
@KlausGerdGiesen great! thanks a lot. that's good to know; and congrats for you trip! may you ride a thousand more!
@yanndegat Merci bien pour vos gentils mots.
