LinkedIn user? Starting November 3 posts will be used to train their AI.

Unless you opt out, actively.

Your text, your data, your choice! This should have been an opt-in, not op-out

@claesdevreese Delete your account - only responsible thing to do

@je5perl @claesdevreese

Yes. Opt-in/opt-out clauses are a sketchy protection with big tech.

@je5perl @claesdevreese You can also post AI poisoning nonsense - it's not like anyone will be able to tell it from the rest of linkedin's bullshit

@etchedpixels @je5perl @claesdevreese

From what I've heard it seems that a lot of LinkedIn content is AI-generated already, so this might be a pretty incestuous activity for AI development.

@je5perl @claesdevreese Take off and nuke the site from orbit. Its the only way to be sure.

@claesdevreese

I thought for some time that we need a Fediverse-based alternative to LinkedIn.

@claesdevreese I've immediately opted out of pretty much everything as soon as I saw this notification.

@claesdevreese

I wouldn't have thought that scraping Linkedin posts could in any way '"improve" the quality of AI slop. Quite the reverse.

@claesdevreese Big tech doesn't understand the concept of consent. They think they are by default entitled to all of your data, no matter how private.
@claesdevreese most or all of the posts I see are already AI
@claesdevreese I thought I already opted out once

@mcc @claesdevreese

"We will continue to honor all of your prior setting choices."

I opted out a while back, and that's still what it shows in my settings. Let us know if you see different!

@claesdevreese #Alt4You A screenshot of a pop-up on LinkedIn.

The title of the pop-up reads:

"Update to our terms and data use"

The body of the pop-up reads:

"Starting November 3, 2025, we'll use some of your LinkedIn data to improve the content-generating AI thjat enhances your experience, unless you opt out in your settings. We're also updating our terms. See what's new and how to manage your data. Learn more"

@claesdevreese is not default opt-out even legal in Europe?
@claesdevreese I opted out by deleting my account.
@claesdevreese just the little nudge I needed to finally delete my useless account there.
@claesdevreese because the llm's weren't good enough already at outputting linkedin ai slop? XDD
@claesdevreese We could just leave LinkedIn. It's been getting worse for a long time.
@claesdevreese I can't imagine a more mentally ill AI that one trained on LinkedIn posts. If anything this might be a positive if it brings about the end of all this LLM nonsense.

@claesdevreese

Thanks for this. I have now clicked the appropriate boxes.

@claesdevreese the time to leave LinkedIn was 2016-12-08.
@claesdevreese Could you please add ALT text to the image so I can boost your post?
@claesdevreese there are posts on linkedin that are not already AI generated?!?!?
@claesdevreese @rebeccafinn I mean, if they want to poison their models with meaningless pompous drivel, let them.
@oscherler @claesdevreese remember what happened in The Simpsons when Nelson fed the "output" to the "input" of the functioning digestive system model that Marge built overnight for Bart? Welp...
@claesdevreese Was already off but took this opportinity to look at my profile and turn off some other stuff.
@claesdevreese I opted out back when I deleted my LinkedIn for what they did to to that trans woman. I can't remember her name, but they demanded she "present her authentic identity" and suspended her account. So I deleted and gave them my best "Fuck transphobia and fuck you!" in the "Why are you leaving?" survey.
Fuck bigotry!
