It doesn't have the best plot in some respects, but I love the music, the aesthetic, and the characters' sheer enjoyment of their computers and the net.
One of my favourite films :)

I have a good memory of scenes but a tendency to recall them when something reminds me of them.
During our wedding, the pastor was quoting Corinthians (when I was a child...) so I started replaying the scene with Cereal Killer saying that.
I got interrupted reliving the scene with my spouse-to-be poking me. Embarrassed I managed to get a "I-I do?"
Fortunately, it worked out and we're still together after twenty five years.

Mark T. Tomczak@neil I frequently say when the topic comes up Sneakers Is a better movie about how hacking actually works, but Hackers Is great for the aesthetic, the themes, and the punk culture.
Plus, it has one of the absolute best depictions of flow state I've ever seen in film.

Mark Dixon@neil Great film! I’ve just got back from New York and it brought back so many memories of that film. I ended up watching it yesterday.
CavyherdI loved that movie, but I was always frustrated that [Ramon?] was arrested or something about 3/4 of the way in, & the story just abandons him after that & we never find out what his fate was. (It's been a while since I've seen it, but I was upset by that again on my last rewatch.)

noahm@neil There are a couple of crazy things here. One, that it was 30 years ago. Two, when Hackers came out, 30 years ago meant 1965, which at the time felt like ancient history to me. I assume kids these days feel that way about 1995?
