Jeff AtwoodTubbs constantly blows my mind even with his little asides. "I'm not saying there shouldn't be rich people, but if there are so many rich people, there shouldn't be poor people." I can't even think of another person I interact with who stops my (very very busy) mind dead in its tracks almost every time I talk to them. What we need is for everyone to price everything for reasonable profits, not maximum profits. Things become unaffordable and quality decreases when maximum profit is the goal. They think free markets will take care of this, but they donβt when everyone has chosen to optimize for maximum profit.
