'Everyone can use Linux. What do you need Windows/MacOS for? Some stupid game you barely play anyway? Stupid MS office apps that your company makes you use?
I even got my granny to use Linux, one day I just swapped out her stupid windows and she never even noticed.'

I see a lot of that around here. It's blatantly not true, and no not *everybody* can just 'up and use linux' so easily.
Screen-reader users for example.

I'm happy some can be so blazé about it, but when a screen-reader is your gateway to the world of computing, jumping on the Linux bandwagon is neither simple nor as easy as pie.

@FreakyFwoof I feel like a unicorn amongst tech workers. I teach tech for my job and I do not want to fuck around with it when I'm not at work. I want it to do what it's supposed to do. I don't code or beta test or any of it. Honestly if I'm not at work I'd rather be doing something un-tech-y. Like baking bread, or reading, or ... basically anything not tech related.

@FreakyFwoof @Pawpower I will say that yes, it is possible, if you want to spend several man hours figuring it out, using a windows VM for certain stuff if you need to use MS Office specifically or other stuff, but yeah I don't have the patience or the time myself. I know at least one person who uses Linux exclusively, and he is awesome, but when Ido so much on Windows I just don't have the time to fuss on my main machine. Maybe someday. But yeah, nah.

@blindbat84 @FreakyFwoof Jesus I have really noticed this amongst blind folks. Windows, Mac, jaws vs NVDA, bla bla bla. FFS why does anyone care about what the next guy uses. PS freedom scientific aren't your family. The loyalty to a corporation just seems so freaking bizarre to me. But if folks use jaws good on them I hope it works.

But note, preference, not demand, though there is plenty of razzing aboutit in the accessibility team.

@TomGrant91 @lerven @blindbat84 @FreakyFwoof there was a pizza I had years ago that I really liked, but haven't seen it sense. it was a pizza that had macaroni and cheese, and the sauce was a cheese sause, and it also had small tator tots on it. it was actually really good.

@lerven @blindbat84 @FreakyFwoof I never heard of sweet corn on pizza until I traveled to Dominican Republic. It’s apparently a favorite over there, and I can see why. It’s so good. In my homeland of Puerto rico, ground beef and wriped plantains is incredibly popular.

I did enjoy a couple of slices when I was there, but I definitely would not want to do anything physically strenuous after eating it. I would need to roll myself into a corner and take a nap.

Most blind people in the world, I would venture to say, can't afford or don't have access to a screen reader that you have to pay for. Nor do they have a smart phone. So, whatever platform you have access to and/or whichever one you like is just great. Choices are awesome! And we are so blessed to have them!
