do The Youths these days still know about Pokemon Crystal Vietnamese? So called because it was discovered in a market in Vietnam, it's a romhack translation from Japanese to English (presumably before the real English version released), except it seems to have been made entirely on the basis of a Japanese-to-Chinese dictionary and then a Chinese-to-English dictionary. For example, what's semantically quite close to "insert"...?

@0xabad1dea I definitely remember hearing about it on TV Tropes, though I haven’t played it myself. Reminds me of all the questionably translated Paper Mario mods under the Book of Mario label.
@0xabad1dea ah yes i’ve encountered this in my terminally online travels https://youtu.be/BZ_bhwCgtXg

@0xabad1dea I hadn't heard of this, thank you for sharing!
@0xabad1dea its funny that people call it viet crystal now because it was originally dumped by a warez group - on 2001-05-31, so two months before the official English localisation released - who called it "an interesting cartridge from the Far East", "a rather interesting translation of the game due out in July", and specified that it originated in Taiwan
@0xabad1dea still saying egg drug bag fuck to this day
