@mike Give windows to a man and they will complain how bad it is, but keep using it and saying how every other alternative is somehow worse.
Sell windows to a man and they will complain how bad it is, but keep buying it and saying how every other alternative is somehow worse.
Force man to use windows and he will complain how bad it is, but keep using it and saying how every other alternative is somehow worse.
Windows users thinking is beyond me
@alihan_banan @mike I "bought" a windows 10 a while ago. I was gaming on it (and dual-booting gnu/linux for dev).
My two favourite parts are when windows 10 said my CPU wasn't good enough to upgrade to 11. A threadripper 1950x, mind you.
Anyway all CPUs age out, so I eventually upgraded to a newer i5. Now the windows 10 copy I "bought" tells me I don't actually own it in a nice little watermark on the bottom right.
Windows!
@mike i _may_ have been like that for the first five to ten years of being a linux user...
but 25 years later, even my boomer parents are occasionally telling me "i just read about OpenABC/LibreXYZ in the newspaper, you were right about free software all along!"
so i guess i was right not to shut up about it!
@mike i went to a bar and heard some guy talking about Linux gaming to someone who played, exclusively, Stardew Valley and JRPGs
she did not mention her operating system before this conversation started
then he told her and their two other friends to buy steam decks
we were all at the bar for their Cheap Hamburger Day
I will let you assume how that went over
