Look. It may be that this embroidery thing has gotten slightly out of hand.

@silhelm I had to go check a definition, to be sure: "Out of control, no longer in control of something or someone, difficult to control a situation, be chaotic or unmanageable, be in an unruly state"
It goes nicely with the Finnish idioms of things getting out of hand. "Nyt on pulkan naru on karannu" and "Nyt lΓ€hti lapasesta" are both part of the same sentence that says the toboggan string has come loose from the mitten-clad hand and the toboggan is making its way down the hill beyond your control, unstoppable. π
Seems to be going famously from what youve shared here!! So beautiful, the threads themselves and your work, tysm for sharing!! Keep it up β¨ποΈπ«Ά
Color is always so appealing, isn't it?
And your work is beautiful, thank you for showing both your embroidery floss and your stitchery.
@FiddleSix The bog-standard cotton floss is cheap enough that it's so easy to think "Well I'll need a darker green, but these are two different dark greens, better get three hues just in case..." and then suddenly there's a bunch, and somehow also multiple blues are in your shopping cart? π Ah.
And thank you! I hesitate to post photos of all of it, as it's all variations of Sini Has Done Some Flowers! π
I am no longer allowed to go into the nice stitchery store two towns over.
My eyesight is bad enough that I can't work on anything with more than 10 stitches/inch, but every time I go in that shop, I see so many pretty little bundles of cotton/wool/silk/rayon, and my mind plays tricks on me, making up things I could do with them.
But I do delight in seeing your work, the clothing assembly and progress as well as the embroidery, so thank you for continuing to post, and please know that Sini Has Done Some Flowers is perfect viewing...
@FiddleSix I'm technically supposed to be very careful with my multiple repetitive stress injuries, and yet here I am, doing even more hand sewing... The little bundles are seriously hazardously attractive no matter what. I used to crochet and the yarn was much more expensive and took up more space, though!
Here's a nice blue flower just for you. So blue! The sort of fern on the left is waiting for my elbow to feel better. π
That's lovely! Such a pretty shade of blue.
I hope your repetitive strain pain lessens, and you can safely do all you want with your hands...
@FiddleSix "I don't need blue thread but I definitely need THIS blue thread..."
Thank you! It's an old familiar friend at this point, the best cure is to just do something else when I upset it with something. If you stop when it's a little bit cranky instead of full on angered, it'll be better in a couple of days!
