Wonder dog was the best Koolie Kelpie cross girl, gone too soon. I’m Caity. I believe everybody is fighting invisible battles, so we need to be kind. I like cooking, reading, and I have aged parents, one of whom has Alzheimers. My family are in Adelaide, Australia. I live in South East Queensland.

Evening, Toots.
Yes, I did fall off the face of the planet again, sorry about that. Been having a bit of a struggle with an old problem rearing its head again.
Not helped by this time of year, always a bit blah-ish, and there have been some added stresses during the year ... so yeah.
I'm still alive. Will try to be back soon. Thank you for being worried.
Hope you've all been playing nicely with the other children while I've been gone?
My piece on time limits for recovery after stroke, or lack thereof, is now published in the British Medical Journal here: https://www.bmj.com/content/391/bmj.r2349

I feel like I've poured a little bit of my soul into it, in retelling part of my stroke journey, please treat it gently.

A reminder that if you have not written to your local member to scream at them about the proposed NDIS changes, you should do so.

Anyone who deals with computer systems constantly (and the problems with trying to make one size fit all) will understand why this proposal is a horrible idea.

NDIS plans will be computer-generated, with human involvement dramatically cut under sweeping overhaul

Exclusive: Staff were told of major changes to the way NDIS funding and support plans will be made during a recent internal briefing

Today (December 3rd) is International Day of People with Disabilities - and so I thought I would share this graphic which emphasises that not all disabilities are visible.

This year's theme is 'fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress'; which on a purely practical level make sense as so much promise & potential is lost when people with disabilities are excluded or suffer prejudice in the workplace & more widely!

Day 2, we're rolling. Has the goat burned?

No. The Gävle goat is enjoying what looks like a nice morning in Gävle.

Reverse Whamageddon has escaped containment! Reverse Whamageddon has escaped containment!

A genie appears: "You get one wish! But before you make your wish, know that there are three things you cannot wish for. (1) You cannot wish for more wishes, (2) You cannot wish for immortality, and (3)You cannot wish for someone to die. What is your wish?"

Me: "I wish for email search to work 100% reliably 100% of the time."

Genie: "There are four things you cannot wish for..."

This poem is dedicated to anyone making a start on their advent calendar today.
