In a serious gain in efficiency, a Space X Starship prototype has exploded without actually being launched.
They're next plan is to see if they can produce an explosion during the assembly process.

Fail fast! No, faster!
@Some_Emo_Chick
I'm looking forward to when they can produce fiery explosions in the design phase.
*I used to do some engineering design (although not rockets), and the idea of the plan sheets or a CAD file spontaneously bursting into a fireball that levels the neighborhood is amusing the heck out of me.
**tbc, I would not want that in reality-- but it's great fun in imagination.
It’s all the drugs, man. Just say no.
In lawn chairs close up so they can feel the awesome roar of liftoffs!
Mhm, das hat ja ordentlich bei Musks Starship gescheppert. Das letzte Mal sah man solche Bilder bei der NASA in den 50er Jahren.
lol and yikes
@Some_Emo_Chick well guess he doesn't have to threaten decommissioning it anymore...kind of a moot point.
Meanwhile in other space news Honda did a small launch and landed (without exploding) their rocket with about 37 cm.
Awesome. Good joke. I lol'ed.
Wonder what the result of a blood test on musk would be now?
Incompetence?
Monkey Wrenching?
Remember, Elon is a genius. He can't be that far from figuring out how to blow up rockets when he first thinks of them.

@richlv Not far from the truth: As I recall, it started out with musk calling it the BFR (Big Fucking Rocket) before slightly saner people renamed it starship.
I've never understood why people ever took that immature twit seriously.
@Some_Emo_Chick
@Some_Emo_Chick I asked Gemini 2.5 Flash Pro what the theoretical maximum explosive force would be if all the propellant combusted instantly and perfectly. It answered 12.9 KT of TNT.

Very interested in critiques of its work!
A real innovation. Now with the owner in it if you can?
Attached: 1 image @gavinlenaghan@mastodonapp.uk #Musk is an egalitarian at heart; All his platforms get the same treatment.
Brilliant.
