Timbers. These are exposed frames of a "half-timbered" house on Castle Green; they date from the 16th to 17th century! The brick panels are later additions; they would originally have been "wattle and daub", ie mud. I found a long-expired roll of Konica VX 200 Super colour film from a past Secret Santa, and decided to rate it at EI 50 and try some Intentional Camera Movement (#ICM). TBH it didn't really work out well, but maybe a few are worth showing. Crackley Wood...

I missed this roll of #Kodak200 from my #OlympusMju2. It's always in my jacket pocket, and when I'm out with black & white film and colour is called for, out it comes. I'm getting slightly better results now I remember to turn off flash in lower light frames! This roll was devved by Darkroom UK and scanned by me with Vuescan Pro; colours turned out better than I'd expected. I did scan a couple to RAW for inversion in @darktable but I've not tried that yet.

@carusb gorgeous!!
@shom Thanks Shom. This is rather radically cropped as I wasn't happy with the composition!
@carusb Beautiful tonalities and texture. This has more punch than I’d expect from a one stop pull.
@tomnorthfilm Thanks Tom. Really more of one stop over-exposed, rather than a pull; I just let the lab dev as normal!
@carusb Ah, that makes sense then.
@carusb I thought this was Double-X.
@tomnorthfilm Ah, we were away so I was editing the post this morning under some pressure. This is a new film, new lens, Kodak Tri-X! I'll edit the post... (Back home now.)
@tomnorthfilm The previous REFLX film was damaged on arrival (black lines, meaning white lines on the film). Unfortunately this new Kodak roll, and I think the next one (HP5), both bought new, lab-devved and home scanned, have longitudinal scratches. It's very frustrating. I can't see how lab development would do this. Unfortunately I've left it too late to do much wrt the lab development. I've been happy with the lab otherwise. [Edited]
@carusb I’ve heard that dust on the equipment can lead to those scratches. That’s supposedly why dip and dunk processing is better. I priced out sending my color film to the Darkroom in LA for dip and dunk processing. It was 2-3x the cost of getting it done at National Camera.
@carusb Too bad about the film.
@tomnorthfilm Yes, I was quite annoyed. I bought 5 rolls and I think 4 were faulty. Happily they refunded the purchase cost. This one I hadn't used, but decided to give it a go; I rather wish I'd thrown it in the bin!
