Phosh 0.47.0

The Phosh 0.47.0 Release

Phosh

#phosh's Feedback Quick Setting now has a status page featuring a "Do not disturb" toggle (that sets the profile to "silent" and disables notification banners) and a button for quick access to the Feedback settings (to e.g. tweak Feedback for individual apps or tune ring tones).

1/x

On the bugfix side the OSD (which is e.g. shown when pressing the volume buttons) no longer grabs input from the whole screen, the app matching code got improved to honor the desktop files's StartupWMClass so e.g. X11 have a better chance of showing an icon in the overview and the Wi-Fi status page now shows the correct network again when it has several access points.

2/x

#Phosh's #MobileSettings app now allows to select and disable the overview wallpaper so there's no need reach for the command line when you want the classic black back.

The apps feedback panel allows to adjust role based volumes in case #PipeWire's role base routing is in effect. This is picked up automatically when you enable role based routing.

3/x

#gmobile now makes it easy to add timers that wake the system from suspend:

4/x

#phosh-osk-stub now adds Emojis to the auto completions and can show a popover for the currently typed character:

EDIT: The OSK also makes better use of available space to avoid ellipsizing auto completions

5/x

@phosh Thanks to all who worked on this! I always enjoy reading these details.
Soon I will install #Mobian again on my second #Librem5 to test all this new functionality!
@janvlug @phosh Thanks! Note that due to the Trixie freeze the packages are in experimental only so you need to fetch them via `-t experimental`.

@phosh Since there is no toggle in mobile settings yet (https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Phosh/phosh-mobile-settings/-/issues/74):

The popover can be enabled via

gsettings get sm.puri.phosh.osk osk-features "['key-indicator']"

and disabled via

gsettings reset sm.puri.phosh.osk osk-features

(it's also documented in the manpage: https://gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/stevia/-/blob/main/doc/phosh-osk-stevia.rst , the manpage also explains how to drop the emojis from the completion bar in case someone wants that)

osk: Handle `key-indicator` flag (#74) 路 Issues 路 World / Phosh / phosh-mobile-settings 路 GitLab

This allows the user to enable the popover indicating the currently pressed key, see

GitLab
@phosh Why is there an X button in the header when this is intended for phones.
@dasmatus because it's a screenshot from a nested session.
@phosh I tapped the image on my phone and imediatly wanted to swipe from bottom to top to close the menu xD. #phosh user here.
