On April 13th the #NewYorkTimes published an article summarizing #DOGE’s statements about anticipated savings achievements. 1/7
That number is far below the #POTUSINO’s claims during the campaign which were double of what was claimed at the start of the #Administration in January. That number in January now appears to be 85% larger than what was achieved. 2/7
My conclusion based on what evidence has been offered by the #Executive: a) government is far more efficient than any #MAGA claims and b) the #Executive and their #quasi-governmental consultant #Musk does not know of what they speak. 4/7
It’s #politics attempting to create a perception in the voters of being efficacious while its exactly the opposite. We need someone in #Congress standing up for being a real steward of the people, even when the facts are unpopular or buck #cognitivebias. 5/7
We need leadership that can persuade their constituents of the truth, not react to forces of uniformed preconceptions. I hold you accountable to be that individual, but have not seen a demonstration of that leadership. 6/7
I appeal to you to work with your colleagues who know better and break with the #Executive. Return #Congress to it’s #co-equal status in our government. 7/7
