I find the way RFK Jr talks about autism to be really disturbing. He refers to the existence of neurodiversity like it's an illness. It is not.
These folks just can't stand variety in any form.
What if, instead, we look into what causes a lack of empathy? Seems to be an epidemic of that.

Organized religions are one of the oldest forms of corralling & organizing humans unto "us and them" camps; the believers and the heathens. That was the first step towards lack of empathy. By separating us, via whatever microcosm you choose, you weaken us. Gotta keep 'em separated, or they might love each other.
We never learn natural empathy because we are conditioned that we're better than they are.

RejZoR@kimlockhartga It's really no different than being introverted in today's society where everyone is obsessed with extrovert behavior. Being introvert is considered as illness almost as well though not to as severe degree as autism. And even there, both have a spectrum, some show it strongly, others less. If we weren't this different we'd just be robot clones or something.
