@de3ev @christoff - I've been building Free Fridges and Food Rescue in town. Lots of folks are building out solar panel microgrids for them and their neighbors. We're doing a lot more community third spaces (community theaters, beefed up libraries). We have repair cafes and monthly meetups where we bring in something to be repaired for free and then help others repair their stuff for free.

We're building a better world and living in it now.

Like, sure, I get that people who never used it before could get confused by the amount of Linux choices there are out there.

Which IMHO is best solved by pretending Linux is NOT a singular thing.

Debian is not the same as ChromeOS. Android is not the same as Arch Linux.

You could even say Mac is unix-compatible too.

Just treat them as separate OSs.

one of the cardinal sins engineers commit is "forgetting that real people will have to manufacture the stuff they designed, with actual fingers and eyes and abilities". i am not immune to it (and a low-cost pcb fab encourages committing this sin by almost completely abstracting interactions with people who will be making the thing), which is how i came up with the image below
