Today I learned about the triangular Lenovo IdeaCentre with an attachable projector

air freshener looking ass puter

I don't need it
I don't need it
I don't need it
(I do need to find some similar looking cases, though, for a sleeper build but I'm not going to buy a whole, perfectly working retro machine just to get its case)
@odoben Wonder if it still works as Raster Image Processor or if it's just a normal PC now
we should bring back dedicated power supplies for graphics cards
mmm... 𝘭Ѧ0Mbps

i saw one of these cursed objects at a friend's

i want to see one that's the other way around

just when you think you've seen everything
oh wow there's a 9 port version of this
the jankiest find of the day award goes to
this maketh me nervous
No cables have been hurt in the making of this listing
Computex: So there's RAM with fans on in now. On one hand, they're so thick you do need 4 slots and 2 of those become inaccessible. On the other hand, hear me out: if you were going to only use 2 sticks in a 4-slot board anyway, then this is a good way to hide the empty slots
I can't believe I'm saying this but thank you, Apple, for forcing other brands to start making more affordable laptops that don't look cheap.

@odoben In fairness to this product, the last Intel board / chipset I bought was designed to slow itself down if you populated all your RAM slots. So I got empties on account of Intel being jerks basically.

Although I don’t need fans for my RAM so …

@EveHasWords If there was a 2-slot version of my motherboard, I would have 100% bought that instead.
@odoben No worries, red on black means it's not venomous!
@odoben This looks... extremely like a server hotswap power supply, so I'm morbidly curious just what the heck they done in the back side to adapt the outputs to the thick screw terminals for these cables.
@odoben Spurred on by relentless innovation in the realm of terrible PC case design, we present The Return of the Hard Card
@wyatt @odoben raises finger
consider! the humble data hoarder
perhaps one’s already got a case capable of six drives and they’d like to add another few tebibytes
bigger drives too expensive?
use the unused expansion bays!

little positivity doesn't hurt /shrugs/
@tidest @odoben It's true but the only reason this can be a mass market product is because modern pc cases are terrible and having that many HDD's is a "premium feature" now. Data hoarders are a small minority

I don't mean to be negative when I say that, I find it hilariously funny.
My case from 2007 has 10 bays btw, between the 5.25 and 3.5 inch ones
@tidest @odoben like, the average PC case I see now has one (1) 3.5 inch drive slot
@odoben honestly i agree, this would help me put newer gpus in older systems where i can't put in new PSUs
@chirpbirb also less cable melting
@chirpbirb what if external GPU?
@odoben the USBC external docks?
@chirpbirb yes
@odoben the machine I'm thinking of doesn't have USBC but I might be able to get a PCIE chip for it
